The broadcast will start from Tuesday,July 28th with 2 back to back one hour episodes covering the WSOP $40,000 Special Anniversary Tournament. This event was the first $40,000 Buy in tourney in the history of the WSOP and was organized to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the WSOP. It has also been regarded as one of the toughest poker event ever in the history.

WSOP organizers started the pre-registration to 57 WSOP 2009 events. They encourages people to do that in advance as some of the events has cap which cannot be exceeded. Event buy-ins are from $1000 to $50,000

40th WSOP will begin on May 27, there will be 57 events.
Main Event will begin on July 3 and the final table will be set on July 15 and played on November 7-10.
